Mise en Place

Thanks to the years of cooking meals for extended family and entertaining friends, I have developed an expertise in mise en place parties. I have also developed a truly beneficial service I call mise en place to go. After many years of cooking for weekend trips to the slopes or the lake, I can efficiently shop and prep and package an entire weekend of meals so that when you are ready to go, your cooler and groceries are ready too.

Mise en Place parties

Mise en place is French for "putting in place." I plan the menu according to your instructions, shop, and prep at your home one day before the party. The day of the party, I return for the final few hours of preparation and assist in setting up as needed, and of course, clean the kitchen one more time. When all is in place and we've covered cooking and serving instructions, I leave and the party is yours to enjoy. Everything from hors d'oeuvres to dessert will be waiting in place. It's really a wonderful way to entertain for a small group or a large buffet.

Mise en Place to go

This is a made to order solution for family weekends at the lake or the slopes, or a busy in town weekend with out of town guests. I will shop according to your list for the weekend, and then prepare breakfast items, lunches, and dinners that will be packed and ready to go when you are. Once you get to your destination, you'll be able to enjoy your friends and family because you'll have meals ready and minimal clean up.

Weekends with out of town guests are always exciting, but can be a lot of kitchen time for the host or hostess. Wouldn't your rather spend the day with your guests at the game or the Museum and then return to a dinner party that is completely prepped and ready to cook? A coffee cake, breakfast casserole and fresh fruit might also be in the refrigerator for a Sunday brunch. Your menu, your schedule, minimal clean up. What could be easier?
